I've always had a creative mind. But for most of my life, I kept those ideas tucked away — imagined but never built, dreamed but never done. Then came the bonnet.

It started with something I noticed that most people never thought twice about. When a woman puts her hair up in a bonnet at night, something quietly disappears. The hair that softly frames her face — that gives shape, warmth, and beauty to her features — is gone. Hidden away under a plain cap. And just like that, the glow of the day fades into something ordinary.

I knew there had to be a better way.

I started experimenting. I tried lining bonnets with tassel and fringe-like materials along the sides — but it left things feeling too ancient, too costume-like. Almost Egyptian. I tried attaching real hair to the bonnet to bring that facial framing back — but then you'd need a curling iron to style it, and that completely defeated the purpose of going to bed in the first place. It wasn't working. But I kept going, because the idea wouldn't let me quit.

Then one day, I found it — a bang that held its shape. Silky. Shiny. Effortless. It framed the face exactly the way I had envisioned, without any heat, without any fuss. That was the moment everything clicked. The Banging Bonnet was born.

But the journey was far from easy. I was doing this completely alone. I'm not tech savvy. I had never run a business. Websites, verbiage, acronyms — all of it felt like a wall between my vision and the world. There were moments it felt impossible. But the idea was bigger than my fear, so I kept pushing.

Because this wasn't just about a bonnet. This was about a woman who deserves to feel beautiful at night — in her own space, behind closed doors, in the moments that belong to her alone. Those private moments matter just as much as any other.

And while I designed this with women in mind, I also thought about something deeper — the moment a partner walks into the room at the end of a long day. There is power in still being seen as beautiful in those quiet, private moments. Especially for women who have long protected their hair at night, Banging Bonnet says: protection and beauty are not opposites. You deserve both. At the same time. Every night.
